What I'm Looking Forward To This Summer
This "Spring" has been very busy for me! I put it in quotations because, let's be honest - that season doesn't really happen in Chicago. I recently moved to a new apartment, which is always a time consuming process, and work has been pretty busy as well. Now that the dust is starting to settle, I've had some time to reflect on the past month, as well as get excited about what's coming up in the next few months! Here's what I'm looking forward to:
Warm Weather/Summertime Chi: It may seem strange depending on where you live, but, in Chicago, warm weather is a delicacy! It's May, and, as I write this, the temperature outside is 40 degrees!!! We only get a few months of warm weather each year, so I've learned to make the most of them. Being able to go outside without a coat and scarf is one thing that I can't wait for, but the real thing I'm excited about is summertime in Chicago, or "Summertime Chi". Chicago is literally the best place to be in the summer. There's the beaches, rooftops, and patios, and there are tons of different street festivals and outdoor concerts to go to! I'm starting to make my bucket list of things to do in Chicago during the summer... Be on the lookout for that blog post!
My Cousin Camielle's Wedding: She's getting married y'all! My cousin Camielle is the first to get married out of a group of my closest cousins and I can't be more excited for her. I'm honored to be one of her bridesmaids and I can't wait to celebrate her and her fiancé Michael in June!
Attending the Essence Festival: Ah Essence Fest. After the movie Girl's Trip came out last year, I expect a lot of people will be attending this year for the first time. That said, this will be my fourth year in a row going to the festival in New Orleans! I've even made a couple of vlogs in previous years (you can see last year's here). It's a glorious weekend of food, music, celebrities, and positivity, and I look forward to it all year long!
Lake Tahoe?: The question mark is because this one hasn't been officially planned yet, but, now that my episode of Let's Make a Deal aired (have you seen it yet?), I should be getting contacted soon to claim my prize trip to Lake Tahoe! Since I'm definitely not a skier, I would rather go when the weather is warmer - so this could potentially fall into the Summer, if not, the Fall.
What are you looking forward to this summer? Any vacation plans? Let me know in the comments!
